For a little bit of fun around here, we asked our authors to show us their ‘sign’. It was incredibly interesting to find out what these were. We put together a little chart to show you all what we found out!
What are astrological signs and what do they mean?
Astrology is the idea that the month you were born under is linked to your personality. Astrology, in its broadest sense, is the search for human meaning in the sky; it seeks to understand general and specific human behavior through the influence of planets and other celestial objects. It has been argued that astrology began as a study as soon as human beings made conscious attempts to measure, record, and predict seasonal changes by reference to astronomical cycles.
The cycles are as follows.
Aries (March 21 – April 19)
Aries loves to be number one. Bold and ambitious, Aries dives headfirst into even the most challenging situations.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
Taurus is an earth sign represented by the bull. Taureans enjoy relaxing in serene, bucolic environments, surrounded by soft sounds, soothing aromas, and succulent flavors.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
Have you ever been so busy that you wished you could clone yourself just to get everything done? That’s the Gemini experience in a nutshell.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
Cancer is a cardinal water sign. Cancers are highly intuitive, and their psychic abilities manifest in tangible spaces: For instance, Cancers can effortlessly pick up the energies of a room.
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
Roll out the red carpet, because Leo has arrived. Leo is represented by the lion, and these spirited fire signs are the kings and queens of the celestial jungle.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Virgo is an earth sign historically represented by the goddess of wheat and agriculture, an association that speaks to Virgo’s deep-rooted presence in the material world.
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Libra is an air sign represented by the scales (interestingly, the only inanimate object of the zodiac), an association that reflects Libra’s fixation on balance and harmony.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
Scorpio is one of the most misunderstood signs of the zodiac. Because of its incredible passion and power, Scorpio is often mistaken for a fire sign.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
Represented by the archer, Sagittarians are always on a quest for knowledge.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
Accordingly, Capricorns are skilled at navigating both the material and emotional realms.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
Despite the “aqua” in its name, Aquarius is actually the last air sign of the zodiac. Aquarius is represented by the water bearer, the mystical healer who bestows water, or life, upon the land
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
As the final sign, Pisces has absorbed every lesson — the joys and the pain, the hopes and the fears — learned by all of the other signs.
So what personality do our authors mostly fall under? Perhaps these personalities help them be the writers they have become? Maybe it is written in the stars so to speak.
Smart, passionate, and dynamic, Gemini is characterized by the Twins, Castor and Pollux, and is known for having two different sides they can display to the world. Expert communicators, Gemini is the chameleon of the Zodiac, adept at blending into different groups based on the vibe and energy they perceive. While they’re also amazing at showcasing surface traits, the Gemini well runs deep, which is why the Twins are one of the Zodiac’s most emotionally intelligent signs. Energetic and quick-witted, Gemini never gets stuck in the past and doesn’t ruminate on what might have been. Instead, they move forward with glass-half-full optimism and an ability to always look on the bright side—and land on their feet—in nearly any situation. With a mind that’s constantly racing, even when they’re just quietly hanging out, the Twins never get bored. In fact, Gemini is happy keeping their own company and can often turn their solitary daydreams into reality.
